We were delighted to receive an in-person invitation to the Decarbonising Heat Day during COP26, held at the Climate Ambition Zone.


A Change of Scenery


The seminars took place at the Climate Ambition Zone, in The Lighthouse building located in the centre of Glasgow.


APD Energy's technical director, Jim Main was accompanied by the company's marketing manager on one of the first ventures out of the office in nearly two years.


Heat Innovation for a Cooler Tomorrow


The day started with an opportunity to learn about innovative solutions developing across Scotland & further afield, and included several engaging discussions all centred around decarbonising heat. Contributors included:

  • Donald Daw, VP Living Environmental Systems, Mitsubishi

  • David Townsend, MD, Town Rock Energy

  • Godon Reid, GM for Zero Emissions, Scottish Water

  • Jamie Goth, Director, Scottish Futures Trust



Clyde-Built: The Heat Revolution in Glasgow


The afternoon was spent exploring current and forthcoming decarbonising heat projects in and around Glasgow. Including the potential for urban regeneration through the deployment of zero carbon heat. It was exceptionally enlightening listening to closer-to-home projects that have already began wielding tangible results.
